participant's opinion
“The master class was enriching and friendly. We were in a small group, which made it easier to talk to the other participants, and great for sharing feedback. The presentations are also relevant and unique. The format of the master class was well thought out, particularly with the bike tour and guest. Great encounters in the classroom and in the field!”

Program
Day 1
Planning, Image & Political Will
Day 1 introduces bicycle urbanism through the logic and methodology of the Copenhagenize Index, explaining why cities are assessed and how data, perception, and lived experience shape success. Using global trends and leading cities as reference points, participants explore Paris’s cycling transformation—examining political commitment, advocacy, and governance, and how vision is translated into policy, street design, and neighbourhood-level change..
Day 2
Infrastructure, Safety & User Experience
Day 2 focuses on the physical conditions that enable everyday cycling. Participants explore how leading cities design safe, connected, and legible cycling networks, with attention to continuity, traffic calming, intersections, and perceived safety. The afternoon examines bicycle services and intermodality, highlighting best practices in parking, bike-share systems, and integration with public transport, and how these elements support usage growth and large-scale mode shift.
Day 3
Livability, Communication & Implementation
Day 3 connects cycling to broader urban outcomes, exploring its role in building healthier, more inclusive, and more sustainable cities. Participants examine social equity, economic value, public health, and environmental benefits, alongside the importance of communication and education in building support and managing change. The Master Class concludes with an Index-based workshop, enabling participants to analyse their own city and identify concrete, actionable next steps.
