Copenhagenize Design Co. partnered with Swedish landscape firm Mandaworks and EMS engineers to develop a comprehensive bicycle network strategy for the city of Lévis, across the Saint Lawrence river from Québec City. As a multidisciplinary team, the primary project goal is to develop a bicycle network that allows for both recreational and utilitarian cycling. Safety, access to nature, transit-connectivity, and implementation feasibility were all key objectives that guided the analyses and supported the vision for a bikeable Lévis. With rich, panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, Lévis has a unique opportunity to integrate its impressive natural surroundings and connect it with its urban core. Implementing this bicycle network over the coming years will allow for citizens to pause and enjoy the beauty of the region on safe, high-quality cycling routes.
