Copenhagenize Consulting is heading to the Czech Republic on two occasions in April.
The first is a seminar in Brno on April 7th, 2010.
“The Seminar should support the cycling and walking transportation as an equal and integrated part of the transportation system and as a suitable way of transport to work. Top experts will introduce examples of good architectonical and transportation solutions of cycling transportation in Denmark, and compare the development in the Czech Republic.”
Lars Gemzøe from Gehl Architects will be speaking there, too, which is brilliant.
Later in the month, on 21 April, 2010, there will be a Czech national cycling conference in Prague – Cyklokonference – and we’ll be showing up like a stray cat there, too.
Copenhagenize produced this short film/advert for the Danish bike brand Biomega.
We wished to showcase the company’s gorgeous bicycles – there are two different bicycles in the film; the Amsterdam and the Puma Pico.
The beauty of the product – like all bicycles – is that it is a human-powered machine. We wanted to take the design of the bicycles to another level and chose to use that century-old cultural icon The Cycling Girl in order to do so.
Biomega bicycles, iconic Cycling Girls and the city that Biomega calls home: Copenhagen. Work with this holy urban trinity and your work is half-done before you start.
We’re selling bicycles, of course, but we’re also selling urban cycling as lifestyle, as practical transport and as a social tool for city life.
Cycling has been effortless and gorgeous for over 120 years and will be for centuries to come.

for Copenhagenize Consulting
Copenhagen Consulting is travelling to Mexico City to give a lecture about Marketing Bicycle Culture and to be present at the opening of the Dreams on Wheels exhibition.
Mikael Colville-Andersen, CEO of Copenhagenize Consulting, will be speaking at the 3rd Bicycle Congress taking place in Lleida (Catalonia, Spain) on April 2010.
The topic will be the planned luxury bicycle superhighways in Aarhus and Copenhagen, from the perspective of innovative bicycle-friendly infrastructure.
The UN Climate Conference is approaching quickly and Copenhagen is ready, more or less, to welcome the world. The Conference kicks off on December 7 and runs until December 18, 2009.
Copenhagenize Consulting is looking forward to a busy and rewarding time during the conference. Between 12,000-15,000 delegates are expected as well as an estimated 40,000 NGOs, activists and journalists.
On the bicycle front, Troels is on the jury for the New Bike Share System for Copenhagen Design Competition, with the winners to be announced at an event on December 10th. Mikael is the host for the award ceremony.
In addition, there is a long line of interviews scheduled with Mikael – Denmark’s Bicycle Ambassador – during the conference period.
Let’s hope that not only the bicycle gets some tailwind during the conference but also that the leaders do their part for the planet.
