Things to look for:

A cyclist reading. A cyclist eating an apple. Elderly cyclists. A bouquet of flowers. A postal carrier on a bike. An electric scooter that our elderly or disabled citizens use.

The Green Wave in Copenhagen is in place on routes with high levels of bicycle traffic. If you cycle at 20 km/h the lights are timed so that you’ll hit green all the way into the city centre.

I rode a section of it one morning and then filmed the rush hour bicycle traffic.

35,000 bikes use this stretch each day.

This is a video showing Copenhagens unique bicycle culture as it looks in the beginning of the early 21st century.

A monumental motion of everyday people transporting themselves from A to B by pure pedal power.

-Each day 37% of everybody in Copenhagen arrives at work or education by bicycle.

-25% of all families with two kids in the city own a cargo bike.

-And the 519,000 inner city copenhageners own 560,000 bicycles!
